2012 May National Meeting - Agenda

Get ready for 4.0 and beyond! The AF4Q national meeting this May in New Orleans will be about cultivating innovation, in great part through examining inspirational bright spots from our peers. We will hear some dynamic speakers with important perspectives on innovation, and enjoy what New Orleans has to offer. We look forward to seeing you in May!

Tuesday, May 15th

TRAVEL RECOMMENDATION: We are recommending project directors and consumer reps arrive in New Orleans Tuesday evening. Please see the travel information handout for details on airport and ground transportation.

Wednesday, May 16th

8am-TBD: Project directors premeeting:
This is a closed working meeting for project directors (or their designees) only. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. We are recommending project directors arrive in New Orleans Tuesday evening. RWJF staff and senior NPO staff will join the meeting near the end for a short period. End time is TBD, usually around 4.
11-3pm: Consumers premeeting:
All consumers who are attending the national meeting are invited to this consumer premeeting. Lunch will be provided. We are recommending consumer reps arrive in New Orleans Tuesday evening. Meeting materials available here.
3:30 – 5pm: AF4Q App Challenge judging:
App Challenge judges will view demos from the five finalists and have some discussion. Others are welcome to watch the demos. All five demos will be available on Thursday in the registration area outside the sessions.
5 – 9pm: Social event, cocktails and dinner:
First formal event of the meeting. To be held offsite, a short walk from the hotel. We will meet downstairs at the hotel at 5:00. Don’t be late - you will NOT want to miss the surprises we have in store. We will have buses available to take attendees back to the hotel or drop you on Bourbon Street at the conclusion of the event if you still feel the night is young.

Thursday, May 17th

6:15 am Fun Run
7am-3pm Prefunction area outside the ballroom:
See demonstrations from the five finalists in the AF4Q App Challenge and get a close up look at NQF’s new Community Tool to Align Measurement.
7-8:30am Networking breakfast:
A hot breakfast will be available starting at 7 am for all meeting attendees – come catch up with old friends or meet some new ones. Are you a first-time meeting attendee? Sit at one of the tables marked “FIRST TIME ATTENDEES” to get a casual overview of the meeting and AF4Q from program and Foundation staff. 
8:15 – 10:15am Opening plenary:
Welcome from Foundation and NPO staff.

TRAVEL RECOMMENDATION: We are recommending alliance team members not involved in postmeeting activities plan to leave the hotel around 1:00. There will be an option to take lunch “to go.” Please note that we have negotiated with the hotel that group rates will apply for tGhe three days following the meeting, should you wish to extend your visit to New Orleans.
