American Institutes for Research

The American Institutes for Research (AIR) is one of the world's largest behavioral and social science research and evaluation organizations with expertise in a range of topic areas including: education, health, international development, social development, and workforce.
AIR’s Health and Social Development Program (H&SD) promotes overall well-being, including physical, social, emotional, and mental health; prevents illness, injuries and violence; and provides better, and more efficient health care for children, youth, families and older adults. AIR conducts and applies research to develop improved healthcare services, systems, and structures that improve health and affordability of care. Its Center for Patient & Consumer Engagement  aims to advance the knowledge and practice of patient and consumer engagement in health care.
AIR’s H&SD Program assisted the Aligning Forces for Quality Alliances with their work in engaging both employers and health care consumers in efforts to improve health care quality.
