  • Commit to some “get-to-know-you” time to let the group form.
  • From the outset, create an atmosphere of equality and mutual respect.
  • Teach patients about your practice operations.
  • Offer ongoing training about different aspects of care or operations.
  • Be open and receptive to questions, and most of all, be patient.
