This document, "Back to Basics: HIV/AIDS Advocacy as a Model for Catalyzing Change" was provided by HCM Strategists to highlight the following points of the model: the movement - change in the medical research paradigm; the history - events that have changed everything; key accomplishments - specific medical research successes of the movement; attention - creating the political will to transform policies; knowledge and solutions - shaping the discussion and getting answers; community - working together for the same cause; accountability - implementing an 'inside and outside' strategy; leadership - inspiring and motivating people to act on a shared vision; today's reality - understanding what can and cannot be replicated; and conclusion - going back to basics.
