In 2008, the Greater Detroit Area Health Council (GDAHC) launched its online physician organization performance public report, now available at www.myCareCompare.org. A preliminary review of GDAHC’s “Round Four” performance data shows improvements in the four years measured for almost all of the reported measures. Specific improvements include:

  • All five diabetes measures improved over time, particularly:
    • Cholesterol medication use for patients with diabetes, which improved by more than 12 percentage points
    • Cholesterol testing and control in patients with diabetes, which improved by 5.2 and 7.9 percentage points, respectively
  • Well Child Visits for 3 to 6 year olds increased 8.4 percentage points
  • Colorectal cancer screening improved by almost 11 percentage points
  • Cholesterol medication use in patients with heart disease improved by more than 7 percentage points.
  • Use of generic (non-brand) medications improved by almost 13 percentage points
